Style Counsel at Intu Metrocentre

December 14, 2017

This season, we have released 4 new colour ways in our eco chic jersey yarn statement necklaces. This follows the success of our first releases back in Summer 2017.

Back then, we had fun styling the necklaces up ourselves for photos with clothes from H&M, Mango and Zara. This time, we thought it would be interesting to see how people in the fashion know would do it. Within the North East, Intu Metrocentre is widely regarded as a shopper's heaven so what better place to turn to?

With the help of Rachel from Intu Metrocentre's Digital Marketing Team, we got to work with 3 retailers: Topshop, Warehouse and Label Lab at House of Fraser.  Visiting the Metrocentre so close to Christmas means that you get to see the place in all it's twinkly, festive glory, which was a very pretty back drop for the visit.

The challenge set to each of the retailers was to curate an outfit to showcase each of our necklaces - the super chunky red and blue marl options and the slimmer grey marl and black & white that have handcrafted clay bead detail. We wear ours with a range of different outfits and were interested to see how they would be used to dress up and down a selection of looks.

So here are the looks selected by each of the retailers. We would love to hear which outfit you like best for each necklace and we'll feature them on our website.

Please do share your favourite overall and thoughts on who nailed the combos best.

The Red One

Topshop and House of Fraser both chose to style the red necklace with statement tees and faux leather biker jackets - we totally love this combo. Both dressed up the look with trousers for a versatile rock chic weekend outfit. Warehouse teamed a navy fine knit turtle neck jumper with the colour pop tweed for a cute winter's office wear combo. We loved how all really did let the necklace headline.

The prices// Topshop: Rolling Stones Tee £24; Faux Leather Biker Jacket £69; Large Check Trousers £39; Boots £52/ Warehouse: Tweed Mini Skirt £36; Navy Fine Knit Turtle Neck £32/  House of Fraser - Label Lab: Slogan Tee £25; High Waist Trousers £65; Faux Leather Biker Jacket £79; Bag £39; Scarf £25.

The Blue Marl One

House of Fraser (HOF) and Warehouse chose to style the blue marl necklace for classic office wear. We love the blush and lace detail of that HOF jumper and the bag is super cute, compact but with an edge. The navy trousers from Warehouse have a lovely slim leg, which complemented the cool delicate fabric of the top. Topshop went for a more relaxed look teaming the necklace with this amazing rabbit top to dress up the double denim; Finished with a beret & the most awesome shiny boots!

The prices// HOF, Label Lab: Navy Bag £39; Westworld Blush Jumper £49 and Grey Check Trousers £55/ Warehouse: Trousers £39; Cream top £32/ Topshop: Jeans (Lucas Fit) £45; Denim Jacket £46; Rabbit Shirt £30; Beret £12; Boots £62.

The Grey Marl One

Warehouse have stayed with a smart look for office or weekend - this navy tweed mini would be so cute with tights - we love a navy & black pairing at the moment. Topshop aced a full on tactile extravaganza with furry bag, faux leather pinafore and slinky thigh high boots. House of Fraser rocked a smart casual combination with faux leather flyer jacket, textured slim fit jeans and our favourite navy jumper of the season, layered over a pretty ivory blouse (from Punkarama at Label Lab). We had to give a special mention to this claret jumper (also at HOF) for the lovely colour match.

The prices// Warehouse: Navy Tweed Mini £36; Navy jumper (also available in cream) £36/ Topshop: Faux Leather Pinafore £29; Top £19; Bag £25; Boots 49/ HOF - Label Lab:  Jacket £99; Westworld Black Jeans £49; Punkarama Ivory Shirt £55 & Navy Jumper £65; Bag £35; Claret Jumper £35.

The Black & White One

This necklace provided the biggest range of looks. Label Lab at House of Fraser selected this gorgeously tailored coat in the softest grey, which perfectly contrasts with the navy and black elegant base blouse and trousers. We also loved their fun round bag that perfectly complements our necklace. Topshop went for a body-con, rocking, night out combo ..... we wish we still had the abs for this! We love the embroidered red roses and chain-mail detail on the bag. This look was accessorised to the max with a velvet baker hat and these swoonsome ankle biker boots. Warehouse opted for a classic little black dress - this one is gorgeously fluted at the bottom and has sleeves, which sets it a part from your run of the mill version. Our necklace really pops to set the look off for party season. We couldn't do a blog on clothes without giving a special mention to this fab Breton jumper from Warehouse... you know we love a stripe.

The Prices// HOF: Grey Coat £129; Black Trousers £55; Navy Top £55; Round Bag £40; Red Scarf £28/ Topshop: Top £26; Trousers £22; Boots £72; Hat £14/ Warehouse: Dress £46; Breton Jumper £42.

Please let us know what you think. Which Retailer came out top for you? Which outfit combinations are your favourites, we'd love to hear. All necklaces available in limited numbers here - a great versatile and eco friendly alternative to accessorising.

We would like to say a huge thanks to Rachel at Intumetrocentre and the following in-house stylists who took the time to put the outfits together: Sarah Lee, Creative Assistant at Topshop, Metrocentre; Gemma at Warehouse and Paige at Label Lab for House of Fraser.
